Role Description
As Head of Communities at FlightStory, you will be responsible for building, nurturing, and scaling a highly engaged community around our brand, content, and investments. Your mission is to foster meaningful connections, amplify our impact, and ensure our community thrives as a hub of inspiration, innovation, and collaboration. You will lead initiatives that deepen relationships with our audience, partners, and stakeholders, creating a strong sense of belonging and advocacy for FlightStory.
Key Outcomes
Develop and implement a comprehensive community strategy aligned with FlightStory’s mission, growth objectives, and brand vision.
Build and nurture an engaged community across multiple platforms, including social media, forums, and exclusive networking spaces, ensuring high member engagement and value.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, industry leaders, and brand advocates to enhance reach, credibility, and impact.
Design, launch, and manage community-driven initiatives, events, and campaigns that increase participation, retention, and brand loyalty.
Create and maintain feedback mechanisms to capture community insights and integrate them into FlightStory’s content, products, and services.
Develop and enforce community guidelines and best practices to foster a positive and supportive environment.
Monitor, analyze, and report on community growth, engagement, and sentiment, using data-driven insights to continuously optimize strategies.
Core competencies
Proven experience in community building and engagement strategies, successfully scaling communities from inception to sustained growth.
Strong communication and relationship management skills across both online and offline environments.
Expertise in social media platforms, content creation, and audience engagement best practices.
Ability to make data-driven decisions and track performance to inform and adjust community strategies.
Leadership skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration to align community initiatives with overall business goals.
A commitment to fostering trust, inclusivity, and a strong sense of belonging within the community.

You are a passionate and strategic community builder who thrives on connecting people and cultivating meaningful conversations. You have a deep understanding of digital communities, social media dynamics, and audience engagement. You excel at creating compelling narratives that encourage participation and advocacy. You are proactive, creative, and data-savvy, with experience in growing and managing communities in media, startups, or creator-led brands. You are skilled at identifying opportunities for community-led growth, building ambassador programs, and fostering an environment where members feel valued and engaged. Your ability to nurture relationships, drive engagement, and measure impact makes you a perfect fit for this role.
What Success Looks Like:
Within the first 6-12 months, you will have built and activated a thriving DOAC community that can be blueprinted across the FlighStory brand ecosystem, significantly increasing engagement across key platforms while developing a network of brand advocates. You will have launched successful community-driven initiatives that enhance audience interaction and brand loyalty. Additionally, you will have implemented effective feedback mechanisms that allow for continuous improvement of FlightStory’s offerings, ensuring our community remains engaged, valued, and continually growing. Your leadership will establish FlightStory as an industry leader in community engagement, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation that aligns with our mission.

London - Shoreditch, we are an in-person-first culture and believe in fostering a vibrant and work environment centred around connection and community.
Some roles will require global travel so flexibility in this aspect is important and your hiring manager will confirm this with you during the interview process

1st Interview - This first stage will involve meeting your potential manager and team members.
2nd Stage Interview - Task - Through the task round you get an insight into the day to day responsibilities of the role and we get the opportunity to understand how you work.
Final Stage Interview - The final interview involves meeting a Senior Stakeholder in the business.
